Celebrating The Community This Summer 

When people head out to a local festival, a community celebration or a day at the races, they probably aren’t thinking about portable toilets or waste bins. But for the organizers, those details are an important part of making the day work.

At Heartland Disposal & Recycling, we’ve been busy helping events and community activities across the Edmonton area get the services they need. From Bon Accord Harvest Days to animal rescue gatherings and major events at RAD Torque Raceway, our work takes us well beyond construction sites.

Helping Local Events Come Together

This summer, we supplied portable toilets for Bon Accord Harvest Days and provided a combination of portable toilets, handwashing stations, temporary fencing and a waste bin for VegFest Edmonton, a local vegan and vegetarian festival. Each event has different requirements, and sometimes organizers need several services from one supplier.

We also supplied a portable toilet for GEARS 9th Annual Mutt Strut, meeting a practical need as people walked their dogs to support local rescue work. Church events and weddings have been part of the mix, too.

These gatherings vary in size and purpose, but they share something in common: someone behind the scenes has a long list of things to arrange. Having the right facilities in place gives organizers one less thing to worry about.

From Race Days to Community Cleanups

Heartland also regularly supplies services for large events at RAD Torque Raceway near the Edmonton International Airport. Larger gatherings bring different demands, making it important to plan for the services a busy venue needs.

Community cleanup events are another part of our work. At a local mobile home park, a recent cleanup was expected to require approximately 20 to 30 bins over the course of a week. Having bins available helps residents tackle the items and accumulated waste that need more room than regular household collection provides.

Whether it’s a neighbourhood cleanup, a festival or a wedding, our job is straightforward: help organizers get what they need, when they need it.
