About Heartland

Founded in June 2019, Heartland Disposal and Recycling has rapidly grown to become a leading provider of waste management and site services in Central Alberta.

Farhad Bahrami is the driving force behind Heartland.

He entered the industry in 2017 and founded Heartland, starting with a single truck and 18 bins in 2019. Heartland has expanded exponentially since then because his simple formula for success is: get the customer what he needs, when he needs it, no matter what.

This philosophy of always saying “yes” to customer needs is the backbone of Heartland’s growth which includes strategic acquisitions to greatly diversify and expand our services to handle clients needs for the likes of Ledcor, Amazon, and the City of Edmonton.

Key company highlights include the March 2020 purchase of Pro Binz which brought on board our lead operator, Terry Corbeil, whose extensive industry experience has been a major factor for the continuing growth and success of Heartland.

In 2021, the company acquired Solvex Enterprises which broadened its portable toilet offerings and added valuable land assets.

In 2022, Michelle Summers joined as our Operations Manager and brought a wealth of industry knowledge to the Heartland management team.

In 2023, the assets of 220 Junk were purchased further expanding our bin inventory and service capabilities. This allowed Heartland to include two different types of bin services: hook lift bins and cable lift bins.

Our team is now led by industry veterans with over 45 years of combined experience and is committed to exceptional customer service and environmental responsibility.

We pride ourselves on our ability to tackle complex projects, from residential demolitions to large-scale construction site management, always with an eye toward maximizing recycling and minimizing landfill waste.

Today, we proudly operate a fleet of specialized vehicles and manage an inventory of approximately 200 bins and 600 portable toilets, along with an impressive availability of up to 25 kilometres of temporary fencing.
